Lessons from All That Matters 2015

Gateway To Indonesia

Last week I took a short business trip to Singapore for the All That Matters 2015 conference.

All That Matters

This annual conference has been running for 10 years. For 2015, held at the Ritz Carlton Millenia, there were three themes: Music Matters, Live Matters, and Video Matters — a clear sign that Asia’s music industry is drawing global attention.

I moderated a panel in the “Gateway to Asia” program on day one, featuring Indonesia, India, Australia, and Taiwan.

Walking into Millenia 1, the room was packed — around 200 people seated, more standing in the back. After the India panel, we took the stage. Panelists: Jamie Robertson (MixRadio), Yonathan Nugroho (ASIRI/Trinity Production), and Hang Dimas (Langit Data Indonesia).

After the panel, people crowded the stage. From that one session alone, I walked away with nearly 50 cards from business people across the globe.

Lessons and Impressions

The All That Matters organizers sent an email titled “Gateway to Indonesia Panel Rocked at Music Matters” — thanking us for intense, thought-provoking contributions and calling our panel one of the event highlights.

Three days in Singapore left a lasting impression — both for how the organizers brought together so many industry leaders, and for Singapore’s ability to be such a comfortable host.
