Furthermore, Minister of National Education Bambang Sudibyo called on local governments to help the education sector by downloading the books, printing them and providing them for free to the students in their area.

Although i believe this is a good idea and thank the government for the initiative, i have a technical question: Why print it and who pays for the cost?

I will highlight the Saresehan event, as it was a success in terms of the Live Blogging introduction to the local music community. Knowing that less Indonesian music community was accustomed with this sort of online live event coverage (back then, people mostly responded like, live blogging? WTF? Is it like a LIVE chat? What’s the different between those two? etc etc).

However soon after the Live Blogging ends, the widget became dull. It’s like a dead widget in the middle of a blog post. Worst thing is to me, covering a live event especially seminar-like events, is like producing an unsearchable keyword rich content. So with that dead widget, there’s no way people could find the event coveragae through search engine search.

He returned to Babson full time, and in 1995 was named the first Franklin W. Olin Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurship. Timmons’ friends and supporters endowed the Jeffry A. Timmons Professorship in the mid-1990s in recognition of his contributions to Babson College and to the field of entrepreneurship. His doctoral dissertation, “Entrepreneurial and Leadership Development in an Inner City Ghetto and a Rural Depressed Area (Harvard, 1971)” was the first use of the word “entrepreneurial” in a dissertation title.

I was an Entrepreneurship graduate student back in 2004, and Professor Timmons’ book New Venture Creation was my Holy Bible. When i wrote my thesis for the degree, with my fellow entrepreneurship students, our professor Yuyun Wirasasmita asked us to use Timmon’s model for Assessing new venture opportunity, as the parameter for recognizing initial entrepreneurial success. Despite it brought debate among professors from other department, i think we had successfully pioneered the new thesis model for entrepreneurship graduate study in Indonesia.

I didn’t even remember if i have a Yahoo! profile, so i checked it out and seems like my profile was categorized as ‘adult’. I’m not sure why and perhaps i was idiotically register my profile and add to adult category. But after seeing the profile picture i started to laugh. And can’t stop.

Below is the picture. I have a mustache and wear Batik, a traditional outfit wears by ‘adult’. The next funny thing was that i can’t change the image to a new that might perhaps not categorize as adult. So let it be.

Somehow noone can blame Yahoo! because it’s just another automatic-massive-user-based-generated -announcement on what the system see in their certain category. This is a sort of social outage effect generated by new Indonesian government law that intend to block pornographies in the internet.

Well, all in all, it’s just a nature of the future ‘borderless world’ in Indonesia which i will never comprehend. I think more people especially who rule the rules should dig into internet deeply. That way they’ll understand that internet freedom of speech is far beyond pornography. I wonder what will be next.

An emerging middle class and alternative online payment options are spurring online buying in large developing e-commerce economies like China and India.

If this means the internet commerce industry will continue to grow rapidly in 2008 worldwide, then you better join the bandwagon & grab the opportunities. If you can’t smell this opportunities, then you can stay on your traditional business and keep wondering what made your sales going down. Ouch.

The committee also dubbed 27th October as a national blogger day which i think will be a great idea if it followed by a clear and concise concept. I also think it’ll be best to bring the result as a give back to the community. I think sort of blog action day will be a great idea. But don’t copy instead just lead the bloggers into one cool and useful idea that can be mass produced.

To be honest, back in my early days of blogging, i was not a big fan of Indonesian bloggers. Because back then i didn’t learn anything from them because all they care is nationality or just make money online technical technicalities instead of spreading the awareness of being a global citizenship attitude. So tried hard looking out to internet, facing huge trial and errors, massive rejections and finally survived by reading out high profile RSS. But, seeing this cool initiative, i must be stupid if i’m not proud as Indonesian blogger. So i love it so much. But hope they change their template from CopyBlogger’s .
