Well ok, as Fred suggest from my last post the best thing to start using Firefox 3 after installing is by having a clean profile. I did some google search and find this tip on how to create a new profile in Windows XP.

Close your Firefox.

On your START tab, klik Run then paste this firefox.exe -ProfileManager

Create a New Profile and tick Ask When Start Up (so you don’t get asked everytime you start your Firefox).

Then restart your Firefox.

That’s it, start with a clean profile.

Before i did this, i can’t imagine that i can actually live using ‘clean Firefox’ as i have depend enjoy my browsing life with a lot of addons in the last couple of years. However, after starting with a new clean profile, i realize that i only need 3 addons to get on with my life. Those addons are FireFTP, Web Developer and Roboform. So i installed those 3 extensions and continue my life

Now why are those Gravatars moving? Well apparently i need to tweak this blog’s CSS files to meet my new and cool browser standard

Signing off.

Just a quick update.

I think there are too many unresolved/compatibility problems on the fastest and the coolest browser around, Firefox 3. In my machine, this browser crashes like fat man eats cake, sometimes 3-4 times a day sometimes more. In the last couple of days, it crashes whenever i open Gmail. It’s so retarded, how come i can’t using Gmail? When i do search on the web, all i can find are different Gmail – Firefox 3 unresolved problems.

Then this thought cross through my mind, if regular unsavvy internet user want to use Firefox 3, how come they should browse around tech forums just to make their ‘cool’ browser works with Gmail? I think most people don’t need that.

I quit using it and switch back to Firefox 2, i hope they could fix this compatibility problems if not then the world record downloads are just numbers of abandoned software download, never converted into users.

Firefox is my default browser and have been using Firefox 3 release candidate since the day they launch and really in love with it. It has been said that there are 14,000 improvements since the version 2. I didn’t really dig it but from what i feel, the version 3 is so light and really make my internet life better.

Good news arrived that Firefox 3 stable release will announced soon and as always the community will held a cool event on the launch day which is called Download Day:

Set a Guinness World Record Enjoy a Better Web

Sounds like a good deal, right? All you have to do is get Firefox 3 during Download Day to help set the record for most software downloads in 24 hours – it’s that easy. We’re not asking you to swallow a sword or to balance 30 spoons on your face, although that would be kind of awesome.

By the way, the official date for the launch of Firefox 3 will be posted here soon – so check back! Join our community and this effort by pledging today.

You can join this cool effort by simply clicking this link, pledge yourself and help the community to set the world record.

It’s a good deal by the way…!

Apparently, just suddenly, I found that several sites produced an error pop-up in my Firefox that said:

Warning : Unresponsive script”. The message continues: “A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

And it then gives me the option to Stop Script or Continue. It’s annoying because i use my Gmail account to control all my Google Apps email accounts (that’s a lot of time to check and reply emails), and the pop up warning just popped everytime i’m at my Gmail account window. Sooo retarded.

So I did a Google search and found some troubleshooting from some beautiful people (here and here).

From the sources, i get a very simple solution as this:

In the Firefox address bar, type about:config and press Enter.

Scroll down (perhaps a quite long scrolls down, but be patience) and find the entry that says dom.max_script_run_time.

Double-click on that entry and change the value (i heard that the default is 5, but mine was 1800!!) to something higher. I changed to 2000 but didn’t do. So i changed again to 20 then suddenly my Firefox works fine!

After that just click OK and restart the browser.

Continue browsing and have fun!

Note: For the 3rd step, if you’re not lucky just like me, you will only need to change it several times to get it right.

I’m a faithful Firefox user and many other Google (related) products. Everytime i connect to the internet using my Firefox, I’m feeling thankful to the people at Mozilla for inventing this great internet browser.

One of the reason why me and hundreds of millions other Firefox users is the free and cool addons. Many of these open source tolls are definitely make my internet experience enhanced. But lately i found my Firefox crashes often. Ok, maybe because my installed addons list is a super long list.

So yesterday, i found this useful article related to Firefox crashes in Cybernet. I remove these list of addons and now i found my Firefox running better. I hope the guys who invent these great addons will find a solution to this matter because to me, those are great and useful addons.

If you need to be updated to Mozilla’s newly updated features, you can subscribe to their feeds here at their site.

But anyway, thank you Mozilla for making my internet experience cooler than ever!
